Abaigeal Duda is the Museum Educator for SALEM in History, which is a content-based, professional development program for primary and secondary school teachers in the Salem Public Schools. It is funded by the U.S. Department of Education through Teaching American History grant. SIH is a joint effort between PEM, the Salem Public Schools, Salem State College, and the National Park Service. It aims to increase the depth, breadth, and quality of teachers’ knowledge and understanding of United States history, and to provide teachers with the training, materials and support necessary to apply this new knowledge and understanding in their classrooms. Abaigeal is also a Ph.D. candidate at Boston University in American Studies and American Art History. Her background includes work in museum exhibitons, education, and development.
